Jeanette Hancock
Originally from Hawkes Bay, currently living in Christchurch, Jeanette is from a strong pro-life family. Her grandmother Miriam was involved with SPUC and arrested outside of a clinic in Auckland during the 90s for peacefully praying the rosary. Miriam's example has been a strong influence for Jeanette to get involved with the pro-life movement.
Currently, she and a small group of like-minded folk are working to get the Christchurch branch back up and running again. For the last five years, she's been involved with the Focus on the Family Activ8 Pro-Life Internship, three of those years as a leader. With over 17 years in health care, 12 being a registered nurse, she's seen both pro-life ethics in action, as well as where our society can do considerably better for pregnant and mothering women and other vulnerable persons. Articles have been published detailing her opinion of the health system's response to both abortion and euthanasia.
Jeanette is committed to working towards a New Zealand that is uncompromisingly pro-life and that welcomes and supports women, their family and Whanau on their pregnancy and mothering journey as well as advocating for the value of the lives of the vulnerable, elderly and disabled.
